The Pueblo Chieftain reports that 42-year-old Randal Scott Alire is accused of violating his bond earlier this month.

A GPS search of his cell phone placed in him the southern Elbert County area.

Law enforcement officials searched for Alire late into the night Monday.

Deputies were in contact with Alire throughout the night and several times stated that he would meet the deputies and surrender.

Alire missed a Pueblo court appearance earlier Monday relating to his Oct. 1 arrest for menacing with a deadly weapon and domestic violence after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.

Alire is on administrative leave from the sheriff's department, where he has been employed since January 2011.
