A&E, Comcast and The Colorado Meth Project have joined forces to host the  town hall meeting at the History Colorado Center on Tuesday, October 23rd. 9NEWS Reporter Will Ripley will moderate a panel discussion.

The topic of methamphetamine addiction will be a main focus. According to the Department of Justice, meth poses the greatest drug threat to the Rocky Mountain region and is the leading contributor to crimes of violence and property, such as burglary or theft.

On average, statistics show the age for a first-time meth user is under 18. According to police, the supply is the highest it's been in five years via cheap and extremely pure methamphetamine provided by Mexican cartels.

Mayor Michael Hancock will offer remarks to reception attendees before the panel where community members, students, parents, law enforcement experts and treatment center providers will have a discussion and watch a screening of an "Intervention"
episode.

The event is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.
