The Roatcap Fire was estimated to be burning on about 100 acres Wednesday and was heading northeast. The Durango Interagency Fire Dispatch Center estimates about 100 homes, power lines and a Colorado Department of Transportation storage facility are threatened in the area.
The Durango Interagency Fire Dispatch Center has requested ground and air crews to help fight the fire. It's unclear how many resources will be available given that the Wetmore Fire, which has forced about 380 people to leave their homes, also is burning to the east, in Pueblo County.
