Air Force One departed a little before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday from McCarran International Airport headed Tampa, Fla.
The president planned to sleep aboard the plane during the red-eye cross-country flight.
Fire officials say the rally drew more than 10,000 people. It was Obama's third campaign stop, after visits to Iowa and Colorado.
He's due to make appearances Thursday in Florida, Virginia and Ohio, and stop in Chicago to vote early.
