Airport officials say they expect 60 arrival cancellations and 50 departure cancellations on Tuesday. Some planes are being stored at DIA to keep them from damage on the East Coast.

About 60 flights from Denver to the East Coast and another 65 scheduled to arrive at the airport were canceled on Monday.

Airport officials said Tuesday about 30 planes remain in Denver, three times the number of planes that usually park overnight.

The storm grounded thousands of flights across the country, threatening to bring a near halt to air travel for at least two days in a key region for both domestic and international flights.
