The development is located on the southeast corner of 144th Avenue and I-25 in Thornton. Several city officials were on hand as part of the ceremony.
Cabela's is scheduled to open the fall of 2013.
The chain is planning a second store in the metro area. The Lone Tree location is expected to open next spring.
