Now, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL offers an external, temporary bracing system to kids called the Dynamic Compression Brace.
They are only the third hospital in the entire country to offer the new, advanced system to kids.
The world-renowned physician from Argentina who created the procedure, Dr. Marcelo Martinez-Ferro, is working with pediatric surgeon, Dr. Steven Rothenberg and his patients at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Chest Wall Deformity Correction Center. Dr. Martinez-Ferro developed the Dynamic Compression Brace which uses the precise amount of pressure to reshape the chest without causing so much discomfort that the child won't wear it.
The Dynamic Compression Brace is custom made for each child and works like braces on teeth. It's at least a one-year commitment, and the more the child wears the brace, the quicker the deformity is corrected. It's only offered in Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children Chest Wall Deformity Correction Center.
