Lisa Pinto, communications director for the DA's office, said a body was found in a remote area of Hernando County, north of Tampa. It was tentatively identified as that of Davidson, 45, although a coroner's official ID was pending. The circumstances of his death weren't disclosed.
On Dec. 27, an Arapahoe County grand jury handed down a 20-count indictment against Davidson, the high-profile developer behind the Landmark Project in Greenwood Village, charging him with theft, forgery and embezzlement of public property. A warrant was issued for Davidson's arrest, but the developer, who is believed to have been out of Colorado for at least a year, eluded authorities.
Pinto said Davidson was tracked to Bluffton, S.C.
"But nobody could find him, and he eluded capture," Pinto said.
