GOLDEN- A woman who worked at Golden High School is accused of embezzling more than $150,000 in funds, including money made at school events like prom and homecoming.

Judith Marie Eakins, 53, of Wheat Ridge has been arrested and is expected to face embezzlement charges.

An audit found "losses in numerous Golden High School accounts," according to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. An audit team also found documents had been manipulated, according the district attorney's office.

Eakins worked the door at school events and took cash and is accused of not depositing some of the money.

"This money should have been kept in the school's safe, which was located in Eakins's office, until she made the weekly deposited in the school's account," said the district attorney's office in a release.

The DA's office also says Eakins is accused of misusing a school credit card.
