FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - More than 20 business leaders in Fort Collins say they were surprised to find their names on a petition opposed to a proposed ban on fracking within the city.
The petition was given to the Fort Collins City Council on Tuesday by a state oil and gas association opposed to the ban.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (http://tinyurl.com/b89jlmy ), some business representatives say someone else signed their names, while others say they did not know what they were signing.
A consulting firm that circulated the petition says it did not verify all signatures, and the purpose of the petition was not misrepresented.
