DENVER - Denver Police have closed the 1800 block of Curtis Street as Denver Water makes repairs to a broken water line.

Denver Water Public Information Officer Travis Thompson said the utility company was first notified of the break just before 4 a.m.

Four businesses located in the building at 1099 18th St. were without water service for a short time. Water service has been restored.

Denver Water expects 18th Street to be closed between between Curtis and Arapahoe Street as crews work to repair the 12-inch broken water main.

Denver Water expects all repairs to be complete by 3 p.m. and all lanes to be open before the afternoon rush.
