LONGMONT - Longmont Police are investigating a fatal accident from Wednesday night.
According to police, a 21-year-old man passed away after the fatal crash at 17th Avenue and Main Street. The man was later identified as Dale Johnson.
The wreck happened after a suspect fled from an officer who attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Police have Pablo Bustillos in custody after the incident. Bustillos is suspected of being under the influence of narcotics.
According to police, they tried to pull the car over near 10th Avenue and Collyer Street. Bustillos continued to drive northbound on Collyer Street, according to reports. Later, police say Bustillos ran a red light at the intersection of Main Street and 17th Avenue and hit another car. Bustillos was injured but was released to Boulder County Jail.
Police say Bustillos has an outstanding warrant for a parole violation as well as a significant criminal and driving history.
A 23-year-old woman was transported to Denver Health by helicopter. A 24-year-old woman was transported to Longmont United Hospital. Both were injured but are expected to survive.
A dog was also in the suspect's vehicle at the time of the wreck. The dog recovered after a short trip to the Animal Emergency Hospital.
The other victims' names are not being released at this time.
