KUSA - "Fashion Star" returns this week on NBC for a second season. Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos are still the mentors for the designers. But there's someone new too.
Elle Macpherson has been replaced as host by Glamour Magazine's fashion editor Louise Roe.
Another change "Fashion Star" has added for season two is allowing the public to order the winning fashions immediately after the buyers bid on them. Last season fans had to wait until the following morning to order the designers' creations.
"We were very committed to wanting to make sure everything would be available immediately, so making sure we backed into the production schedule to be able to deliver the expectations of the viewers was critical," said Macy's buyer Caprice Willard.
Twelve designers will compete this season. NBC's "Fashion Star" season two begins Friday, March 8 on NBC and Channel 9.
