NBC - The latest public-health campaign in New York City involves a $250,000 ad campaign to get people to turn down the music.
The campaign is intended to help protect sensitive ears from hearing loss potentially caused by loud music from MP3 devices.
The New York City Health Department is targeting teens in a large social media and marketing campaign.
This isn't the first public health effort from the department.
It's taken steps to curb sugar-sweetened beverages and banned trans fats outright.
