KUSA - No injuries were reported in a house fire in Denver Monday morning.

Just before 9 a.m., firefighters responded to a home in the 5100 block of Newton Street.

According to Mark Watson from the Denver Fire Department, there were heavy flames and smoke when crews arrived.

Watson says most of the damage is contained to the first floor of the home.

One adult, a 16-year-old and two children, were in the home at the time of the fire. They all made it out safely.

A family dog died in the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.

The family is displaced and the Red Cross is responding to the incident.
