AURORA - Two drivers are in the hospital after a car crash caused in one car to spin into a tree in Aurora.
According to Aurora Police, a GMC Yukon was driving northbound in the middle lane of South Buckley Road near East Kentucky Avenue. Police say that driver was going about 60 mph.
Meanwhile, a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on South Buckley Road and tried to make a left turn. The Yukon hit the Corolla. The crash caused the Corolla to go east towards the 7-Eleven and hit a tree.
The driver of the Yukon has minor injuries. The Corolla driver was seriously injured. The driver of the Corolla was not trapped, but the vehicle had to be cut open to free them because the doors were blocked due to the damage.
Normally, the person making the left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle would be cited in the case of this type of crash. However, police are investigating to see how quickly the Yukon was driving.
