DENVER - Strong winds continue for the foothills, Front Range and eastern plains Monday.

Gusts up to 40 mph will impact the foothills Monday afternoon.

The winds combined with dry weather will keep fire danger high, especially over the Galena Fire area.

Fire danger is very high over the eastern plains of Colorado and a RED FLAG WARNING for extreme fire danger is in effect until 7 p.m.

For Denver and the Front Range the wind will be much lighter Tuesday.

Spring officially begins at 5:02 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A chance for rain will be back in the forecast Thursday, with a rain and snow mix Friday and snow for Saturday.  The precipitation for Friday and Saturday currently appears to be very light.
