KUSA - A mailman from Northglenn is the inspiration behind a New York Times bestselling book, and now its author has a sequel that looks at more ways people can find their passion and creativity like Fred the postal carrier.
"I first met him back in 1988 and was so impressed with the great job he did turning the ordinary job of delivering the mail into artistry that I wrote the book," Mark Sanborn, author of 'The Fred Factor' and 'Fred 2.0,' said of the inspirational mailman.
Sanborn says "Fred 2.0" is an all-new book for those who want to continually add new value to the people they live and work with through passion, creativity and commitment.
In the book, Sanborn says commitment is a decision, not a feeling.
"It's about deciding to do something, not just because of how you feel, but sometimes despite how you feel," he said. "And I'm sure there are days that Fred doesn't feel well, or didn't sleep well, or is stressed out, and yet he has a commitment to always give his best to the customers he delivers mail to."
"Fred 2.0" was released this month.
