KUSA - Colorado Department of Transportation crews have been on full snow shift since Friday night with 73 plows in the Denver metro area. There are approximately 250 along the rest of the Front Range and eastern plains and approximately 30 plows on the I-70 corridor from C-470 to Vail.

CDOT says roads are icy and snow packed and motorists should plan for extra travel time.

If you are traveling to the eastern plains, check road conditions before you leave as additional road closures are possible due to high winds and poor visibility.

Currently, there are several closures in place due to weather. The closures include:

• I-70 between Airpark and Kansas
• SH 71 between Limon and Ordway
• US 36 between Byers and Kansas
• SH 86 between Kiowa and Limon
• US 385 between Cheyenne Wells and Wray
• SH 61 between Otis and Sterling
• SH 63 between Anton and I-76
• US 24 between Calhan and Limon
• NB I-25 between SH 402 and SH 60- due to multiple accidents
• US 287/US 40 between Eads and Limon
• SH 94 between Colorado Springs and US 40
• SH 10 between I-25 (Walsenburg) and La Junta
• Westbound I-70 at Vail Pass due to multiple accidents
• SB I-25 at Fountain due to multiple accidents
• US 50 between Pueblo and Rocky Ford
• EB I-70 in Glenwood Canyon due to multiple accidents

At Denver International Airport, 106 flights have been canceled. DIA asks travelers to check their flight status before heading out to the airport with their airline or on www.flydenver.com.
