DENVER - Over the last 11 years, Stuff for Students has collected school supplies for low-income students all along the Front Range. In 2013, we are pleased to announce King Soopers will be collecting cash donations for children in need.
Stuff for Students boxes are being sold across the Front Range for the entire month of August. Look for the display on your next trip to King Soopers and pick up a box for $5 or $10.
Five-dollar box will provide 25 school supplies to five students in need. Ten-dollar box will provide 50 school supplies to 10 students in need.
All money goes directly to buying school supplies. More than 15 School Districts receive supplies to help lower income students get the education they deserve. Donated supplies will go directly into the hands of teachers in the classroom, benefiting the students who need them the most.
All supplies will be collected and distributed by Volunteers of America to area school districts. You can also make a financial donation by going to the Volunteers of America website.
If you wish to mail a check, please make it out to Stuff for Students and mail to Stuff for Students, 9NEWS, 500 Speer Blvd. in Denver.
The costs for basic supplies are estimated at: $161.27 for elementary school, $198 for middle school and $893 for high school.
