KUSA - The Tour de Cure is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. No matter what the route, the quads will be involved.
Which is why Parker's Brian Friend started Team QuadZilla, a team dedicated to raising $20,000 for the American Diabetes Association. Brian and 1700 others will ride in Tour de Cure Colorado on Saturday August 17th in Longmont.
Brian will also be riding with Scott Wagner, a 53-year-old Type 2 Diabetic who is convinced his diabetes could have been prevented had he been better educated about the disease. Scott, who lost most of his vision due to diabetes, now devotes himself to informing and educating people about diabetes prevention.
In 2013, more than 65,000 cyclists in 89 events raised more than $26 million to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
