MANITOU SPRINGS - The Pikes Peak marathon will go on as planned this weekend, but on a much smaller scale.
Due to Friday's flood in Manitou Springs, events initially scheduled in the town's parks will be moved to Memorial Hall in the back of city hall.
The events include registration and scheduled festivities.
The facility is much smaller, but organizers say the parks are too soggy to set up tents and tables.
The expo initially scheduled has also been canceled. Organizers say there are no places to put the displays.
The course was not affected by the flood and is in tip top shape, according to organizers.
The last time race officials ran in to issues with the marathon was in 2008, when a blizzard blew in to the summit of Pikes Peak.
