BERKLEY - Drivers who own fancy cars are often criticized for being bad drivers. Now, a study shows that if you drive a BMW, you're at the top of the list.
A study from UC Berkley shows BMW drivers really are jerks. The study shows BMW drivers are most likely not to stop for pedestrians at a crosswalk.
According to MarketWatch, the second part of the study looked at driver behavior at four-way intersections. It shows that the fancier the car, the more likely the driver tried to go through the intersection out of turn. BMW and the hybrid Prius both ranked high in this category.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Great Britain also conducted a study about BMW drivers. Their study surveyed more than 2,000 drivers about their experience with road rage. The interviewees were asked to identify the make, color and driver of the car in each incident.
The highest ranked in that study was the blue BMW. The most common driver was man between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.
