SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Fire officials are evacuating houses in a tiny town southwest of Salt Lake as a wind-fueled blaze spreads.
Fire official Joanna Wilson says the winds have pushed the blaze south Friday, causing flames to jump across Utah Highway 199 toward the community of Terra, Utah in Tooele County. It's unknown how many homes are being evacuated.
Wilson says officials are also evacuating the nearby Clover Springs campground. About 20 homes in nearby Willow Springs were evacuated Thursday.
The Patch Springs Fire was started last Saturday by lighting and was about 22 square miles earlier today. Wilson says it's grown since then.
The growth of this blaze comes as a fire near Park City slows down. That 3.1-square mile fire is about halfway contained after having burned seven houses.
