DENVER - As the quarterback of the Denver Broncos, Brian Griese knew he had a platform and the opportunity to help his community.
Ten years ago, he opened Judi's House with the dream of providing critical support services to grieving children.
When Griese was 12 years old, his mother passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. Brian and his wife, Brook, are committed to making sure no grieving child ever feels along.
In 10 years times, Judi's House has helped 6,000 children and their caregivers. The goal is to expand services to the entire state and provide a national model for others.
Sunday, August 18, has been declared Judi's House Day in Denver by Governor Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.
Mayor Hancock passed along his congratulations in this video.
