AURORA - The Aurora Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that has left the victim on life-support in the hospital.
Police say it happened in the 11200 block of East 6th Avenue at 4:18 a.m. Saturday.
A jeep traveling westbound on 6th Avenue struck an adult male who had crossed the roadway in front of the vehicle, according to police.
The pedestrian was severely injured and is in critical condition at an area hospital. Police do not believe he will survive his injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
A witness told police the pedestrian walked in front of the Jeep. The area was dark and there are no crosswalks or traffic signals nearby.
The driver of the jeep is not suspected of excessive speed or intoxication.
Police believe the pedestrian may have been intoxicated.
