KUSA - It will soon be a clean start for the The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.
For eight decades it showcased the highest suspension bridge in the United States.
Then a wildfire destroyed much of the park in June. It's cleaned up and the plans are drawn up to rebuild.
The park announced it's selected The Beck Group to head construction.
Work will begin as early as October.
The Royal Gorge Bridge got through the fire with little damage. But, 48 of the park's 52 buildings have to be replaced.
That can happen now that a 2 month, $1 million cleanup is finished.
Officials hope to reopen the park by next summer.
