SNOWMASS VILLAGE - Stage 1 of the USA Pro Challenge is complete. On Tuesday, cyclists will head up Independence Pass from Aspen to Breckenridge. Before they leave, they'll have one last chance to check out a colorful display.
More than 30 emergency vehicles in the Roaring Fork Valley are coated in colorful paint. They're highlighted with bright pinks, yellows, oranges and blues!
Aspen and Snowmass Village's fire departments agreed to take part in a program by a non-profit called "Portraits of Hope".
The program gives local kids, as well as people with disabilities and illnesses, a chance to create art in a unique way.
Dozens of kids from the Aspen and Snowmass areas worked with law enforcement and local fire departments to deck out their vehicles.
According to the fire captain in Snowmass, the project has been a hit and it's helping raise awareness for certain illnesses and disabilities.
The vehicles will remain painted through October.
