BOULDER COUNTY - The Boulder County Bomb Squad is currently investigating two suspicious devices in Lefthand Canyon west of Old Stage Road.
On Monday evening, the sheriff's office received a tip from a hiker that along the creek in Lefthand Canyon, he had found two PVC pipes partially buried in the sand. He described them as having wires sticking out of the top. The hiker left the area and was unable to return to point out the location of the articles.
Deputies responded to the area and searched for approximately an hour but were unable to locate the described devices.
As a precaution, Lefthand Canyon was closed from Old Stage to James Canyon for a little less than an hour.
Deputies returned to the area on Tuesday and found the described devices. They called out the bomb squad and are currently investigating to determine if the devices are explosives.
The origin of these devices is unknown at this time.
