CARR - Weld County authorities say a marijuana extraction process to produce hash oil may have been the cause of a home explosion that injured 3 in Carr.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office responded to the home explosion Sunday Aug. 11. Two adult males suffered severe burns. A 7-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.
A search warrant revealed that marijuana was being grown in the home. The residents had a medical marijuana permit.
Sheriff's officials say preliminary findings are that some form of process for producing concentrated marijuana may have caused the explosion.
No formal charges have been filed on either person of interest at this time.
