LONGMONT - A tip helped Longmont police identify and arrest a couple suspected of passing fake money at several stores.
Joshua Lunnon, 34 and Jamie Maritt, 33, were arrested at Lunnon's Lakewood home Friday afternoon. Police say evidence found at the home connects the couple to the crimes.
On Tuesday, Longmont police released a surveillance picture of a couple and young baby taken from a Walmart store in Longmont on July 19. The couple was accused of passing four fake $100 bills at the store.
Police received at least two tips about the identity of the couple after the picture was aired on 9NEWS.
One call was from an employee of the Walmart store in Timnath. She told police she recognized the couple and that they had also used fake money to pay at their store on August 4 and August 16.
Longmont Police say Lunnon and Marrit also used fake money at an Office Depot store on July 18. Both are being held in the Jefferson County jail on three counts of forgery.
