DENVER - Volunteers of America spent Monday organizing, packing and distributing school supplies purchased for low-income students from "Stuff For Students" donations.
The eleventh annual drive runs through Saturday, Aug. 31. Coloradans have purchased $60,000 worth of school supply boxes at local King Soopers stores. So far, $40,000 of the donations have been used to purchase school supplies have been purchased for more than 15 school districts.
Five dollar boxes provide 25 school supplies for five students in need. Ten dollar boxes provide 50 school supplies to 10 students in need.
