KUSA - Asking for help is courageous. That's the message the Out of the Darkness Community Walk is sharing.
Sheri Cole and Alyssa Prohaska were on 9NEWS Saturday morning to discuss the upcoming event.
The organization, which focuses on suicide awareness, is expecting more than 1,200 participants at the South Metro Walk on Sept. 7. They will also have walks the same day in Grand Junction and Fort Morgan.
In 2012, participants raised more than $126,000 for suicide prevention through research, education, and advocacy.
