KUSA - Aurora Police are asking witnesses to come forward in a hit-and-run case from late Saturday night.
A man crossing north to south on Colfax Avenue was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Jamaica Street around 11:30 p.m. The driver did not stop, according to Lieutenant Jeff Turner with Aurora Police.
Two people, who did not see the crash, flagged down an officer when they saw the man lying unconscious in the road.
The victim is in fair condition at the hospital. His name was not released. Turner says the pedestrian may have been intoxicated.
Police say an older brown or maroon Suburban type vehicle was seen leaving the area but police are not sure if that vehicle was involved.
The intersection is uncontrolled with intermittent lighting that may have contributed to the crash.
The Aurora Police Traffic Section is conducting an investigation under case number 2013-33292. Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call Aurora Police at 303-627-3100.
