KUSA - There's just something about seeing a bicycle-built-for-two that makes you smile, right? This trend, with roots traced back to the 19th century is making a comeback. So much so in fact, Denver has a shop devoted to bikes made to be ridden by two people.
Tandem Cycle Works of Colorado is a Denver-based bike shop that specializes in tandem bike sales and repair. Owners Lynn Dexter and Patrick Gibbons fell in love with tandem cycling and got interested in this hobby early in their marriage.
Both cyclists, they decided a tandem bike would be the perfect way to share in their mutual love of cycling. They both believe tandem cycling an excellent team-building opportunity and is a great way to strengthen a relationship.
This bike shop is the only one in the country to sell tandem bikes exclusively. Opening more than 16 years ago, this shop provides a way for Colorado community to gain knowledge and support from a group that truly loves and believes in this form of riding.
While riding a tandem cycle isn't that different than riding a traditional bike, it may take a little bit of time to acclimate to a new style of riding. Renting a tandem is a great place to start. Tandem Cycle Works has rental bikes available at a daily rate.
