COLORADO SPRINGS - An escaped inmate from the minimum-security facility near Canon City was captured Wednesday afternoon.
Jerry Chase was caught near where he escaped at the East Canon Prison Complex, a 6,000 acre complex near Canon City. He was brought into custody without incident.
Chase went missing during a formal count Wednesday morning. According to 9NEWS sources, he simply "walked away."
Chase was in prison on three, consecutive four-year convictions out of Grand County for harassment-stalking-first offense. Chase is eligible for parole on Oct. 2 and his mandatory release date is Oct. 2, 2019.
