LONGMONT- An elderly man who shot and killed his wife, and then attempted to kill himself at their Longmont home Thursday said they did not want to live anymore, according to an affidavit released Friday.
According to the affidavit, Raymond Ecker, 80, told a 911 operator after shooting his wife, Judith Ecker, 72, that the couple had been sick for a long time and decided together they did not want to live anymore.
Raymond Ecker told the operator he was going to shoot himself and authorities needed to do "what is necessary to remove his body," the affidavit read. He also gave the operator his son's name and phone number.
Raymond Ecker remains in critical condition.
