KUSA - It's been 25 years since the show Cops first premiered.
According to USA TODAY, Cops was the first TV reality show. It began in 1989 on Fox. However, after 25 seasons, the network quietly canceled the show.
Yet Cops, which has given viewers an inside look of how police officers take down the "bad boys," will have a 26th season.
Cops' new home will be Spike TV, and episodes will begin airing on Saturdays at 8 ET/PT.
The creator of the show, John Langley, reminisced the episode that took place in Denver many years ago.
During the episode, two cops ran their cars into one another. Langley said it just points out the dangers that law enforcement officials have to deal with often.
