DENVER - Denver Police say the 20-year-old man wanted in connection to an attack against and openly-gay man last week turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Tilo Sandoval. He is suspected of being involved in what police are calling a violent anti-gay assault against Jared Olson.
Olson was leaving Sam's Hookah bar when he was allegedly assaulted in the parking lot. Olson says when he and his group of friends were walking out to their car, a man with a group of people started yelling homosexual slurs at them.
According to Olson, the man followed him and his friends to the car and assaulted him. Olson claims he was targeted because of his sexual orientation.
Olson is recovering from fractures in his face and other injuries. He says he will need reconstructive surgery.
