LARIMER COUNTY - Rising water along the Big Thompson River left a group of goats trapped in a fast-moving current.
Neighbors were able to get to some of the goats.
However, law-enforcement officials are enacting mandatory evacuations along the Big Thompson River, so eventually they had to give up their rescue efforts.
"I mean, it would suck to be a goat right now," Breana Roberts, a neighbor, told 9NEWS. "They released some water from the dam, and that's supposed to hit in about an hour-and-a-half, and so I'm just hoping the water doesn't get too high and they drown."
Larimer County and other areas are saying if you can safely check on a neighbor or their pets, do so immediately.
