ESTES PARK - Estes Park has received a large portion of the catastrophic flash floods from Thursday and Friday.
Due to the floods, many of their systems - including their 911 call center - are not operational. Residents are being encouraged to call 970-577-3716 instead of 911. People are also being reminded to sign up at http://leta911.org/ for emergency alerts.
Their sanitation plants are not operating properly either, so the town's officials are encouraging residents to "please conserve sewage and flush less."
They also issued a boil water order for the following areas: http://bit.ly/1dbcv1g.
Town officials also mentioned during a Friday press conference "if you have not been evacuated but feel concern for your safety at home, do not wait for notice - trust your instincts and go."
The Red Cross has opened a shelter in Granby for 21 adults and 154 seventh-graders who were stranded at a youth camp near Estes Park. The campers were loaded into a school bus and are traveling across Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park on their way to the shelter.
