KUSA - The Colorado State Rams won their first game of the season and extended their home winning streak to four straight with a 34-17 victory over Cal Poly on Saturday.
Garrett Grayson threw two touchdowns and matched his career high with 297 passing yards. For the first time in his 13 appearances for the Rams, Grayson wasn't sacked.
Grayson was 21-for-30 passing and had no turnovers. Chris Nwoke ran for 133 yards on 19 carries for Colorado State (1-2).
Senior linebacker Shaq Barrett came up huge against the the Mustags with two blocked two field goals and two tackles for losses, one of them a sack. Barrett is averaging 2.3 tackles for a loss per game.
Jared Roberts converted two field goals for the Rams, who had blown fourth quarter leads in their first two games.
Next up for the Rams: #1 ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Saturday's game was played as rescue helicopters flew over Horsetooth Reservoir. Fans took numerous detours to get around roads that have been closed while the area is recovering from severe flooding in Larimer County.
