GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Former congressman and gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis is running for a seat on the Mesa County Commission.
McInnis and former Grand Junction Mayor Gregg Palmer have filed paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State to become Republican candidates for the seat.
Current District 2 representative Steve Acquafresca is term-limited.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the candidates are jumping into the race more than a year before the Nov. 4, 2014 election.
