KUSA - At only nine years old, a young girl named Jessica is working hard to turn September gold for childhood cancer awareness month.
It started with her babysitter and a Taylor Swift song called 'Ronan'. After hearing it, Jessica wanted to learn more about the boy the song was written for.
Ronan struggled with Neuroblastoma and died shortly before his 4th birthday.
Jessica decided she needed to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer.
Practically on her own, she set up a fundraiser in Denver. On Friday, September 27th from 7 - 10pm Jessica will be hosting a party at The Retreat at Solterra to benefit the Ronan Thompson Foundation.
It will be an evening of food, drinks, music, dancing and a silent auction.
She encourages everyone to dress in gold and have fun with it! $10 minimum donation.
