DENVER - An activist who worked to keep teens off the streets and out of jail has just bonded himself out of jail.
Terrance Roberts was released from the Denver Jail after posting bond Monday morning. He's charged with attempted murder.
Roberts runs The Prodigal Son Initiative, a nonprofit devoted to keeping kids out of gangs. He's a former gang member who turned his life around. But, police say this weekend, he shot a man multiple times.
That man, 22-year-old Hasan Jones, is still in critical condition.
Roberts' family member say gang members had surrounded him and were threatening him. Jones' family says he posed no threat.
Roberts is also being charged with assault.
