www.colorado.gov/health - This is a website created by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, the Colorado Division of Insurance and Connect for Health Colorado. It is a site with user-friendly, "news you can use" information to help consumers figure out what they need to be doing. Many consumers 'don't know what they don't know,' so this site is geared to provide a basic level of information and direct people to more specific resources on Medicaid and private insurance when they better understand the health law's implication to them.
www.colorado.gov/PEAK - This is the online portal for people wanting more detail on Medicaid, including income eligibility and to apply for Medicaid online. This is not the Marketplace website, but the State of Colorado site where people can directly apply for Medicaid. If people prefer to talk with someone, they can call Medicaid's customer support phone line at 800-221-3943.
www.ConnectforhealthCo.com - This is new health insurance marketplace website where people can get information about private health insurance plans, new financial assistance to reduce costs, and shop for health coverage that will take effect January 1 2014. There is a Customer Service Center that Coloradans can call for assistance, 1-855-PLANS-4-YOU (855-752-6749).
www.dora.colorado.gov/healthinsurance - This is the Colorado Div. of Insurance's website. The Division of Insurance is part of the Colorado Dept. of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) and consumer protection in their mission. They regulate insurance companies and agents, and have authority over the companies and agents selling insurance products within the Marketplace. They do not, however, have authority over the Marketplace itself. They work with the Marketplace they meet regularly about the plans and premiums, interpretation of federal and state regulations and DORA business processes. If people have questions along these lines, they can call 800-930-3745.
