DENVER- The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is getting ready for a big event this weekend. The Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show is Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Sheraton hotel in downtown Denver.
Several big Hollywood names are expected to attend including Beverly Johnson.
The big stars of the night are the models. Everyone who will be "rockin' the runway" has Down Syndrome.
Chase Perry, 7, is one of the models and is an example of the work done by the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. Thanks to the group's early intervention and literacy programs, Chase was reading at 18 months.
By the age of 3, he was spelling words such as "construction" and "television". Now, he can spell a variety of words both correctly and backwards.
