DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Public Utilities Commission will be reviewing a program promoting rooftop solar energy.
At issue is net metering, which gives a credit for rooftop solar panels that put electricity onto the grid.
Xcel Energy says net metering's benefits don't cover costs. The solar industry counters that Xcel's calculations are flawed.
According to the Denver Post, the commission on Wednesday will take up a motion by the advocacy group Vote Solar Initiative to up a separate process to evaluate net metering.
