BUENA VISTA - Several people gathered in Buena Vista Tuesday evening to remember the five people killed in a rockslide.
Authorities say they have recovered the bodies of all five people killed on the Agnes Vaille Falls Trail Monday morning.
The sheriff's department identified the dead as 46-year-old Dwayne Johnson, 45-year-old Dawna Johnson, and their 18-year-old daughter, Kiowa-Rain Johnson. All were from nearby Buena Vista.
The other victims were 10-year-old Baigen Walker and 22-year-old Paris Walkup, both of Birch Tree, Mo. They were nephews of Dwayne and Dawna Johnson.
The survivor of the rockslide is Gracie Johnson, daughter of Dwayne and Dawna Johnson. She is at Children's Hospital in Aurora recovering from a broken leg.
A candlelight vigil was held at Buena Vista High School, where Dwayne and Dawna Johnson worked.
The Johnsons were the family everyone knew in the small Chaffee County town. The entire community has been impacted, students and parents alike.
Dozens of students huddled near the bleachers and along the football field. Students also sang in a solemn tribute to the victims of the tragedy.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Buena Vista High School gym.
