KUSA - Traffic in Colorado's high country is moving again after multiple crashes shut down Interstate 70 for several hours Friday night.
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed both directions of Interstate 70 in Vail around 7 p.m.
The eastbound lanes were later reopened. The westbound lanes remained closed until 10 p.m.
Traffic cameras along the I-70 mountain corridor showed westbound traffic backed up for several miles.
It's not clear if weather was a contributing factor.
CDOT reported wintry weather from Vail to Denver. Another 3 to 8 inches of snow is expected in the Colorado mountains, with up to a foot of snow in some areas as the storm moves out.
